Confirmed: This Nick Fury is a Ham
September 15th, 2009
While I was at San Diego Comic Con this summer, I got to kill much time walking around seeing booths, looking at comics but most entertaining of all, I got to run into people dressed as character: A comic fanboy’s Disneyland to be put plainly. While looking at Stevin Love’s MySpace page, I discovered a link to a Nick Fury video and was intrigued. What I found was the same Nick Fury I encountered at a different time. This time he was on stage, singing David Bowie’s “Can’t Dance”:
I had my phone out when a Care Bear with a boom-box started playing the song from the movie Heat. They had struck up a very rapid moment of acknowledgement with a Nick Fury, Black Widow and Ms Marvel… later to be joined by a naked dude, a white Michael Jackson and a viking.
I once and for all new that what happened with the Care Bears during my accidental stumble past the crowd created a picture for me: One where Nick Fury, after singing “Can’t Dance”, was called to action, and with a coarse whisper through his cigar, he looked down at Bright Bear and said: “Hit play on that archaic piece of trash; I’ll show YOU who can’t dance.” And they danced. Boy did they dance. That was my pseudo-fanfic contribution to the web. A small flash crowd ensued. I captured it with my phone, as you can see below:
