The Beginning (Dec ‘05 - Apr ‘06)

Webtertainment.tv was started late 2005 as a website meant to collect the work of I and friends. With the launch of the website came two podcast series delivering over 60 episodes in four months time.

The first show was called “The Lowdown” and featured different topics of interest ranging from King Kong and Kung Fu to Cloning and Hangovers. The second show was called “The One Minute Show” and was exactly what the title suggests: a one minute show. This series brought a variety of sketch comedy shorts, some of which became sub-series like “Legends of Bronson”, “The El Chico Show” and “Deep Space Asinine”.

Time of Exploration (May ‘06 - Dec ‘07)

The original colleges split up in mid-2006 to follow different paths in life and in the meanwhile I spent the next year and a half traveling and pursuing other artistic endeavors. This led to a few video blog releases with a more personal direction with a series called “Stray Dog XEI” that focused on my travels and experiences.

The year of 2007 was a time for exploration and dabbling represented by two webcomic releases: Republic Domain and Tough Guys. Republic Domain, focused on simple designs based on public domain characters from Russian anti-communist manifestos of the early 1900s with the gag strip writing style. Tough Guys, written by Zac Marshal and drawn by me, features a collection of action hero tough guys like Bruce Willis and Chuck Norris, in a fantasy reality serial series but also has a strong blogging component consisting of action movie critiques, analysis, retrospectives and news maintained and managed by Zac Marshal.

Months later nearing the end of 2007, Webtertainment.tv came out with a short lived series called “comiXtrips” that focused on comic book related news in books, movies, television and on the web.

The Current Day (Jan ‘08 - Present)

This brings us to early 2008. I relaunched Webtertainment.tv with a new, more simple, focus. Going back to its original idea: The Lowdown. This revisiting would bring together the experiences gained by working on every other project inbetween.

The goal of The Lowdown is to still bring random topics of choice to the viewer, but the editing style will take on a bit of the personal touches seen in “Stray Dog XEI” and a bit of the erratic quirkiness of “comiXtrips”. The new Lowdown will focus on content previously covered in the original Lowdown, Stray Dog XEI and comiXtrips, and more, including artist and podcast interviews, reviews of social media products, and random internet news!
